The First Pop Shop albumWhilst the very successful Springbok Hits series was performed by session musicians, the Pop Shop series released by MFP (Music For Pleasure) featured the original artists. The albums included a mix of local and international songs that were SA radio hits at the time. Compiled by Martin Locke.
Pop Shop spawned a couple of Pop Shop Spectacular double albums, a few Pop Shop Gold albums and a TV programme in the early days of SABC-TV (late 70s).
The Pop Shop series continued at a rate of about 3 to 4 a year until number 51(to the best of my knowledge), released in 1991. Tracks:
