1 Various - 'Big Red (Songs From 'Going Nowhere Slowly')'
A double-CD set of original SA songs from the new bunch of SA artists – including Seven Day Story, Wayne Pauli, The Dollyrockers, Stevan Band, Jo Day - as featured on the soundtrack of the very popular TV travel series.
2 Benguela - 'Sui'
A trippy and quite unique double-CD from Benguela, the Cape Town trio who improvised and recorded this album in front of a live audience, and then got some top producers to remix the tracks for the extra CD. Essential!.
3 Rus Nerwich - 'Beyond The Walls ' An emotional collection of songs from the Ghettos and concentration camps of Europe, given sensitive, contemporary jazz arrangements by Rus Nerwich, a new, highly-rated saxophonist on the Cape Town scene.
4 Fokofpolisiekar - 'As Jy Met Vuur Speel Sal Jy Brand'
Great name for a great new Afrikaans punk band from Bellville featuring the lads who were previously New World Inside. Currently building a following nationwide with this fresh blast of take-no-prisoners SA punk.
5 Colin Shamley - ' Born Guilty & Other Stories'
A very welcome reissue from David Marks' 3rd Ear label featuring lots of previously unavailable material from Colin Shamley, one of SA's finest singer-songwriters ever - a mixture of Dylan and Lenny Bruce.
