FEEDER TO HEADLINE EDGARS 5FM 26TH BIRTHDAY CONCERT
The party of the year, The Edgars 5fm 26th Birthday Concert, has just
invited its first major guest, top UK band Feeder, to entertain
partygoers at SuperSport Park on October 27. Thirty thousand people
attended the 25th Birthday Concert last year and witnessed one of the
saddest, yet greatest moments in rock history - one of the Smashing
Pumpkins final gigs, superbly supported by UK darlings James.
This year the organizers have planned a bigger event with an additional
stage and entertainment areas. Feeder reached number one on the 5FM
chart with their single Buck Rogers (from their wildly exciting new
album, Echo Park). The bands second single, Seven Days in the Sun,
is rapidly climbing the 5FM Top 40 - currently at #31), and the band
were recently voted The Best Live Rock Act at the Kerrang Awards, and
nominated for the Best Rock Act at the Q Awards taking place in
October.
While Feeder are the first band to be confirmed for the momentous party, concert organizer Roddy Quinn from Real Concerts promises the band are merely one of many who will be making up the line-up that will entertain partygoers throughout the day and much of the night. Feeder will be joined on the Edgars 5FM Birthday Concerts Main Stage by at least one international act, as well as the cream of South African talent.
TICKETS
Tickets for the Edgars 5FM Birthday Concert at Supersport Park,
Centurion on October 27 are available from Ticketweb on 082 1 400 500 /

VLOEK VAN DIE KITAAR - 18 Afrikaanse Rock Monsters
Die ontwikkeling van Afrikaanse rock, 1979 tot 2001
by Dirk Uys, Boereplaas Plate
20th September 2001
Anton Goosen, Koos Kombuis, Valiant Swart, Piet Botha, Bernoldus Niemand, Springbok Nude Girls, Beeskraal, Akkedis, Spinnekop, Battery 9, Brasse Vannie Kaap, Karen Zoid en Raaskopleef.
Valiant Swart: Boland Punk, Wingerdrock, Brandewyn Blues
Anton Goosen: Afrikaanse Rock, Boerebop, Binneboudskoffel
Beeskraal: Boere-Rock, Kraalvastrap, Tropmoles
Piet Botha: Boere-blues, Blues-rock
Akkedis: Reptielrock of Gatskop Afrikaanse Rock
Battery 9: Industriële Rock
Spinnekop: Giftige Afrikaanse Rock
Brasse Vannie Kaap: Cape Flats Hip Hop

4. CLASSIC ROCK
----------------
SHILOH'S CORNER
HAL BLAINE (valley of a thousand drums)
Acknowledged as the most recorded musician in the history of music, Hal Blaine was driving a Rolls Royce in 1963. By 1991 he had performed on 45 thousand recordings, which 350 thereof reached the US top ten. He started out as a professional drummer with a jazz ensemble called the Stan Moore trio. Hal's close friend and associate, the incredible Earl Palmer introduced him into the world of session work. In his early days in the fifties, he featured with Patti Page, Sam Cooke and teen idol Tommy Sands. In 1960 Jan and Dean's "Baby talk" reached the top ten, although Hal's name was absent from the credits, he provided the rhythm. The magic started when he became one part of Phil Spector's Wrecking Crew. This unique ensemble of master musicians included Carol Kaye on bass, keyboards Leon Russell and guitar Billy Strange, Glen Campbell and Tommy Tedesco.
Now prepare ye for the man who played a million drums; Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Rivers, Simon and Garfunkel, the Monkees, the Carpenters, Neil Diamond, John Lennon, Herb Alpert, Fifth Dimension, John Denver, the Byrds, Mamas and the Papas, Grassroots, Cher, Barbara Streisand, the Beach Boys, Association, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Ringo Star, George Harrison, Partridge Family.
Not only did Hal feature with this phenomenal show case of stars, but very often no credit was listed. Over and above the top heavy CV that Hal had tucked under his belt, worthy mention should be made of the avant-garde improvisation that is featured on the landmark album by the Beach Boys, "Pet Sounds". He was also responsible for that haunting latent snare drumming expressed on Barry McGuire's "Eve of Destruction". For those that would like to dig deep into the heady improvisation of these backroom boys, a compilation album entitled "Secret Agent File" gives off some of the finest brass renditions of the James Bond era. Power drumming coupled with expressive guitar by Billy Strange and Tommy Tedesco is aptly featured within this daunting set of movie themes. Carol Kaye's power house bass climbs up and down the lengthy scales of the Olympic orchestra and is tightly pumped into tracks like "The Rockford Files", "Run, spy run" and Monty Norman's "James Bond Theme". The energy of these musicians are similarly displayed on the classic 1964 album called "Out of limits" by the Marketts.
The Marketts were a virtual creation and brain box of Joe Saraceno. Initially the musicians marketed themselves as the Routers and managed to release a single called "Lets go Pony" through the production of Warner Brothers. Later that year they came to power with the brilliant guitar instrumental "Out of limits" (a spin-off of the "Twilight Zone" theme "Outer limits"). An album called "The Chuck Berry Song Book" by the Routers also came to popularity through Joe Saraceno. In 1990 Hal Blaine released his book "Hal Blaine and the Wrecking Crew". His personal albums included "Deuces", "T's", "Roadsters" and "Drums" (RCA Victor 1963), "Drums, drums, a Go Go" (Dunhill, 1966), "Psychedelic percussion" (Dunhill, 1967) and "Have fun!, play drums!" (Dunhill, 1969). A recommended search for those countless classic / brass movie themes of the sixties may well find you paralysed and flabbergasted by the inner circle of musicianship (check out the credits, although he might not be listed).

USA FOR AFRICA
Texas-based Kurt Shoemaker gives his unique views on SA music
RODRIGUEZ: A LIVE FACT
I've been to a couple of Rodriguez concerts lately. Much to my regret,
I wasn't in Cape Town and I won't be at Woodstock 3. Instead, I've been
listening to two live concert recordings: 'Rodriguez Alive' from Australia in 1979, and 'Live Fact' (South Africa 1998).
On 'Live Fact' not only is the audience perfectly happy to be there,
but he is in perfect rapport with his audience. This helps me create the illusion that I'm about fifth row center. The crystal clear fidelity of the recording helps. I imagine this is a true-to-life representation of a Rodriguez concert, and a worthy substitute if one can't make an actual performance.
The ten tracks on the Australian 'Rodriguez Alive' are all on 'Live
Fact', but as with 'To Whom It May Concern', one gets different versions of the songs. On both sets the bands, whoever played in Australia {The Mark Gillespie Band - ed} and Big Sky in South Africa, stretch out instrumentally and jam. One doesn't need to be a completist collector to want both live recordings.
Both backing bands are excellent, no matter on what continent Rodriguez
finds his pick-up bands. The SA live recording has the excellent Willem Möller on guitar.
As well as pretending to actually attend some Rodriguez shows, I've
also been dropping in on him at work in the studio (all right, I've been listening to 'Cold Fact' and 'After the Fact'). My conclusion is that y'all in SA have discerning musical taste and sound musical judgment. Thanks for keeping him alive, as he says.
Last week, when talking about 'The Best of Rodriguez' I thought of him
as a folk singer with a band, but now I think of him as a particularly fine intelligent rock singer -- witness the hard-rocking 'Only Good for
Conversation' and 'Climb Up On My Music'. Rodriguez the writer and
performer is an all-round talent, from pop to folk to rock.
Since one human quality is our need to categorize, I've met that need
and come up with a concise phrase that neatly pigeonholes Rodriguez's
talents. How about: "Rodriguez is a lyric-oriented, social-commentating, urban-consciousness performer who is at times a rhymester, is frequently a melodist, and a folk, pop, and rock singer, as well as a songwriter of the first water"? Unwieldy, it's the shortest I can say it all in. His work is music to live with.
Speaking of his music, is it dated? To some ears perhaps, but not to
mine. The problems and hopes sung of in my well-intentioned youth are still with us in the on-going processes of life.
Timely? Good Lord, yes. His message for the 21st Century is to end
the violence and "accept peace".
Timeless? As long as the civilization I live in, with all its urban
environments and street urbanity, still exists it is timeless. Rodriguez sings astute social commentary and clever human observations in soundly-written thinking-person lyrics. And his music is fun to listen to. There is both intellectual and emotional range here.
After steeping myself in Rodriguez's songs this week ('Cold Fact',
'After the Fact', 'Rodriguez Alive', and 'Live Fact'), I can only say,
"Thanks, Sixto, for the time well spent." Forget it? Not likely.
Kurt Shoemaker, Blanco, Texas
mailto:kurt@sarockdigest.com
{'Alive', recorded in Australia in 1979, has never been released on CD. 'Live Fact' was recorded in 1998 in South Africa and is freely available in SA CD shops. The Australian imports of 'Cold Fact' (with the white cover) and 'At His Best' are available (I know the new CD Wherehouse at the V&A Waterfront has plenty, though a bit pricey at R150). The SA pressings of 'Cold Fact' (black cover), 'Best Of Rodriguez' (with more tracks than 'At His Best') and 'After The Fact (Coming From Reality)' are unfortunately not available, due to some record company disputes apparently. - ed}

LONDON LEKKER
London-based John Samson gives his own twist on SA music
BEATS AND PEACES - OOM (Tequila records)
My first introduction to the weird and wonderful world of Oom was the
offbeat/upbeat 'Whito Kwaito' from www.mp3.com. The first thing I noticed about 'Beats and Peaces' was that this track was missing. However as they say in Australia, no worries, as there's plenty of other great tracks here, and 'Whito Kwaito' is still available for download from the MP3.com website.
Oom is not just a pretty faceless band, they are also one of South Africa's hidden treasures. Featuring the talents of Ian Osrin, Jon Ackerman (the men behind the sadly departed digitalcupboard.com) and the brilliant vocal talent of the also sadly departed Alf Mofokeng, Oom play a laid back reggae rock n dance with an underlying wry sense of humour. Osrin was involved in the studio project Pocket Lips that brought us the catchy 'It's Amazing (The Incredible Dance)' and is responsible for twiddling the knob on the album.
Ackerman used to run Street Records opposite Wits University and has a wide knowledge and love of music and is always quick to recommend obscure yet brilliant albums. His love of music generally shows through in the variety of styles and influences that appear throughout the album. There's a muted Dylan blues harmonica hiding in 'Peace Train', a Led Zep guitar and a Stevie Wonder harmonica floating around in 'Soul Brother', a Juluka Jive intro to 'Amabulu', a sweeping KLF keyboard in 'Righto Matey' and South Africa's answer to Hendrix's 'Star Spangled Banner' with a electric guitar solo of 'N'kosi Sikelele' stuck away in the corner of 'Amabulu'. And that's just to mention a few.
Alf Mokeng's vocals which can be found on 'Soul Brother' and 'Anoma' are pure reggae, displaying all the warmth and angst of Marley, while Musa ***Lo (as the sleeve notes denote him) brings that great African feel to a number of tracks including the brilliant 'Happiness (is a State of Mind)' which opens the album.
Except for the rather quirky 'System Error' which you'll either love or hate, this is an album jam packed with great tunes to lose yourself in. As laid back and cool as the dude on the cover (number 19 on the top 50 SA Album covers at http://www.sarockdigest.com/albumcovers), it is a gem that shouldn't be overlooked. Also worth trying to get is the cheeky Hansiegate song 'Captain Cash'. If you don't believe me check out 'Whito Kwaito' at MP3.com and hear for yourself.

RODRIGUEZ: ALL THE COLD FACTS

"Cause they told me everybody's got to pay their dues
And I explained that I had overpaid them"
A selection of messages posted on the Rodriguez Forum message board over the past week. Go here for more... http://www.rock.co.za/rodriguez
Natalia: I went to see Rodriguez last night and he was awesome! I was in the front row and I was almost trampled when he came forward to shake people's hands but it was worth it! The greatest part was how he came out afterwards and signed autographs for everyone in the whole venue. What a guy!
23rd September 2001
Brian: The second night in Cape Town was awesome... and a total contrast to the night before...
22nd September 2001
Tom the Curious: Welcome back to Cape Town, man! It's been a long time - 3 and a half years - since I saw you perform last in Bellville, and it blew my mind so high THEN that I didn't even know how to react when I heard you were playing here again. The music, like Sweet red wine, gets better with time. 'Purist' fans will think the Brit swing ruined a classic brew, but maybe they should've gotten up to dance to Climb up on Rod's music - you've got to dance to swing, baby! I never would have expected such a team-up; I just hope you guys had as good a jam as everyone around me did. THANKS to everyone who was there and who made it happen! Viva Rodriguez... Long live and sing live! Peace and love from all the Cape Hippies. See you next tour...
22nd September 2001
Chris: Saw the show at the Three Arts last night. The man was wasted - I mean drunk out of his skull. There was such open animosity between him and the band that at one stage I thought they are going to end the show. He openly chastised the drummer and several times (I mean many, many times) said: "I'm sorry about the sloppy performance, but hey I'm trying." Yeah, very trying.
As with a lot of drunk people he often waffled on incoherently for long stretches, causing some in the audience to shout: "Shut up and play!" It was an inept and completely unprofessional performance. Drunk guys cannot keep proper time - I know from experience. Then again he is nobody in the USA and somebody here, a hasbeen who still plays his music from 30 years ago. And draws a few thousand to his shows.
I liked the band and new approaches and when they cooked it was awesome. When it clicked you felt you were truly in the presence of greatness. Well there goes a hero of mine, sacrificing his ego on the altar of sex, drugs and rock-n-roll. At least he was too pissed to notice...
22nd September 2001
Anton: Saw Rodriguez at the Strand last night. One of the all time greatest & a legend in South Africa. Brilliant. Thanks for your time, Sixto Rodriguez... & please come again.
21st September 2001
Gill: Awesome concert in PE tonight. Thanks to all involved. Backing group outstanding, & Rodriguez - words are not enough - Thank you for your music!
18th September 2001
Roland: I just want to tell all you Rodriguez fans he was here in Bloemfontein, a city in the Orange Free State province in South Africa on Saturday 15 September and it was the most amazing experience of my life. He is absolutely the best performer of all time in my eyes.

GIVE ME THE GOOD NEWS
"War's the one game where we all lose"
I am a South African living in Minnesota. Because of what happened here in the US this past week, "Give me the good news" by Crocodile Harris, has been in my head every day.
I was wondering if you can help me get my hands on a copy of the song, please. I'd be willing to pay to have it mailed out to me, in the US, if it won't break the bank.

{Unbelievable as it may be, this classic song (which sold 650 000 copies in France alone in 1982/83) is not currently available on CD. Try hunting down a copy of 'Sharp Cuts Volume 1' or 'Precious Moments Volume 1', both deleted. - ed}

SPRINGBOK HITS
http://www.rock.co.za/files/sa_springbok.html
Remember those Springbok Hits albums? The albums were recorded by session musicians and the intention was to give people cheap and easy access to the hits of the day as played on the Springbok Radio Top Twenty broadcast on Friday nights and hosted by David Gresham.
Ken Talbot tells us more...
I was Chief recording engineer at the EMI studios from about 1969 to 1971. I was also allowed to produce records myself and had my own record label.
When Michael Eve came along to EMI to start MFP I saw the opportunity of putting forward my idea of producing the Springbok Hit Parade series. I didn't think the SABC would allow us to use the name, but they did, and free of charge.
We formed a team, Robert Schroder, who did the music and basically produced it, Mr Frazer from Ardmore and Beechwood, who managed the finances and publishing and Peter Vee who did a lot of the singing on the first album.
The first record was a big success despite being not the best quality. But as one review put it ; "although the quality was not very good, it certainly got a party going."
The basis for the idea was a follow up on Dan Hill's 'Sounds Electronic' series. The n*de girl we ended up with was not what I had in mind, but in the end it seems to have worked quite well. I had wanted someting more like Dan Hill's n*de girls.
When we later started the South African Hit Parade series on DJ records, we used my idea for a n*de girl.
We stayed with the series up to, I think something like number 33, when EMI, who were a bit upset with us for starting another series in competition, decided to do it themselves. It was then given to Mike Pilot to produce.
We sold the rights to EMI for something like 60,000 Rands, if my memory serves me right.
I used to work with Clive Calder and Mutt Lange and Stevie (van Kerken, later Mrs Lange) did most of the vocals on the series while Robert produced it.
Robert Schroder is still very busy on the record scene in South Africa. He does a lot of TV commercials and has had a number of hit records. Stevie Lang (as she calls herself now) has been very successful as well as Mutt Lange and Clive Calder. She is the voice coach for Robbie Williams and I believe manager of Blue who have a number one single on the charts.

SYMPATHY FOR THE DUWEL
The 2001 Pukkelpop Festival
By Michelle Constant
Although it might have appeared that we were in Belgium to debate the 8.5% alcohol content of Duwel bier, more specifically we were there as guests of the Pukkelpop Music Festival. Heres how I entered another life; a blurred, but intense diversion from my South African world. The Pukkelpop festival in Hasselt, Belgium, is an event where fifty thousand people descend on the greenest patch of farmers turf for three days to listen to some of the finest tjoons, under fluttering coloured flags.
Last year the South African Oppikoppi festival initiated an exchange programme whereby South African artists perform in Belgium, and Belgian artists do likewise in South Africa. Its a world of difference. In South Africa we see ten thousand strong audiences who drink enough Lager for fifty thousand: they cater for up to sixty thousand and their music fans eschew alcohol for reefer. Its certainly a turn for the books, after all the best weed can be found in South Africa and on her borders, whilst the best of beers certainly reside in that tiny European country. As I said, its a world of differences and yet when it comes down to the music, were all followers of the same faith.
A couple of weekends ago in Belgium, saw a South African contingent braving a blistering heatwave, a sun which struggled to set before ten in the evening, and music lovers demanding to be entertained. With the weather, the smells of reefer, sweat, and mayo en patats frites, and a diverse and magnificent selection of acts to watch, we were hard pressed to gather our thoughts. A fellow journalist arrived in a flak jacket, grimly announcing "this is war" and disappeared into the fray. Occasionally I would spot him hunkering down in the press pit, earplugs plugged in, firing his camera as though it were an AK 47. Once he came up for air and gave me the V-sign, then disappeared again, only to emerge three days later - battered but victorious.
And lets not forget the music - a bombardment of bass heavy beats, guitar shrieks and vocal mayhem over six stages. The first real assault was the brutally loud music, pounding my already deafened DJ eardrums. Its difficult to package Pukkelpop comprehensively. In the same way that I stumbled over the Flemish languagescape, Im stumbling through my memories, stopping to pause at a certain moment. It would be easy to wax lyrical, to roll through the list of inspirational acts including Sparklehorse, Tricky, Mogwai, Gore Slut, the Eels, Mercury Rev, Spearhead, Turin Brakes, Starsailor, Aka Moon and Red Snapper - but it was the sight of the South African artists, Max Normal and the Krushed and Sorted DJ outfit that will really stay with me.
Watching our boys put down roots, tentatively at first, but with massive determination, made me revel in my South African-ness. In particular, Krushed and Sorted seemed to move through the bubbling stew of alternative culture with an ease nurtured by the weed, gentle spirits and excellent grooves. Their set, pulling a crowd of a couple of hundred, was supported by youngsters who later told me theyd heard the music, and quite a few of them already owned the 'Acid Made Me Do It' album. The South African artists who performed at the festival this year owe much of the Belgian support to DJ Lux Janssen of Studio Brussel. Since this years Oppikoppi/Pukkelpop festival exchange came into effect, he has publicized and played their albums extensively.
The real highlight had to be Nelly Furtado joining Max Normal onstage for a freestyling moment. Not for Nelly, but rather because the event focussed the spotlight on the extraordinary personality of frontman, Waddy Jones. As one of his Belgian fans explained, "Hij is heel sympatiek." One is drawn towards Jones on a variety of levels, his superb rhyming skills, his softness, quirkiness, split sincerity and diverse personalities. That he is able to persuade a popstar of Furtados stature to perform with him, as easily as he is a sixteen year old in the audience to inhale deeply from their funky smelling sneakers, describes his innate ability to make friends and fans, as well as his enormous talent. I later saw him hanging out, smoking reefer with Tricky, and even later Lux Janssen mentioned how Adrock of the Beastie Boys (touring with his side project BS 200) had pointed Waddy out, expressing interest in his work.
In an unprecendented move by the Pukkelpop Festival organizers, Max Normal was invited to perform three gigs. The bands second gig saw the 2000 strong audience once again drawn towards a magnetic performance, hooking into the choruses and singing along in a language which is not their own. It was during the final gig that both band and frontman seemed to really come into their own. The gig took place in the Chateau Xcrappule, an experimental tent, hosted by Lux Janssen, and demonstrated initiative, freedom of spirit and unusual skill.
As I watched the performance and the response of the crowd, it struck me that no matter what the mainstream media in South Africa tells us, no matter what many of the radio stations spew out under the banner of music, our artists are out there. Theyre making their mark slowly but surely, against all odds, taking their place in the pyramid of style. Likewise, no matter how the appointed "arbiters of taste" slap the dullest of sounds onto the airwaves, there are bands and songs which do connect us to the beating heart of real culture. Thank God, because I almost forgot it.
PS:
Its now a couple of weeks later and Im reminded of what Jan Keymus, one of the Pukkelpop organizers said; "Together with Oppikoppi we can open the door, but its up to the artists to step inside." Whilst we were in Belgium, Johannesburg trio, Boo, who performed at Pukkelpop 2000, were performing at clubs in Rotterdam and Amsterdam, their CDs were in the stores and they had a Dutch manager. Likewise Krushed and Sorted moved on to Prague to do some gigs after Pukkelpop. Hopefully well see Max Normal, and last years success story, Brasse Vannie Kaap, making the most of the opportunities that Oppikoppi and Pukkelpop have contrived to offer them.

RODRIGUEZ AT MOSSEL BAY
17 September
What a wonderful evening! Rodriguez rocked the Whale Hall in Hartenbos and despite some comments to the contrary I think the new arrangements of his songs are stunning. The saxes really drive songs like 'Climb Up On My Music' and 'Only Good For Conversation' and that Rock and Roll medley ('Shake Rattle & Roll', Bob Dylan's 'Subterranean Homesick Blues' & 'Hound Dog') was pure energy from the band and Rodriguez.
I particularly enjoyed the long trippy interlude during 'Sugar Man' when Pete Saunders (ex-Dexy's Midnight Runners) played this real spacey, jazzy piano sound, a bit like Mike Garson used to do for David Bowie in the 70s.
The hall wasn't full, but the crowd were so enthusiastic, I kept looking back to check where all the cheering was coming from. Rodriguez spent a lot of time smiling and thanking the Big Town Playboys. And he thanked us in Afrikaans; "Baie Dankie", he said, "...for keeping me alive". And he came down to the front of the stage a few times to shake hands and he smiled broadly when a girl in the audience shouted: "Rodriguez I love you". "Keep talking, baby" was his reply.
Rodriguez hasn't ever recorded any cover versions, and on his last SA tour in 1998 he played only his own music. But this time around he showed what a true legend he really is by making Midnight Oil's 'Redneck Wonderland' his own, then adding bits of 'The Letter' and 'Unchain My Heart' in the middle of it.
At the soundcheck in the afternoon they played 'Unchained Melody' as well but it didn't appear in the evening's performance.
A medley of Vanessa Williams 1992 hit 'Save The Best Till Last' and 'What The World Needs Now Is Love' (written by Hal David and Burt Bacharach and a hit for Jackie deShannon in 1965) was dedicated to the victims of last week's terrorist attacks... a very moving moment.
After the gig Rodriguez sat and signed autographs until everybody had gone home. A great night in the company of great musicians. Thanks for your time, Rodriguez. (BC)

28 & 29 Sept - High Street Theatre, Durbanville
The band Delta Blue who hit the music scene with a bang about two years ago is going from good to better to great. This band has truly impressed audiences with their polished performances. Gerald Clark on vocals is outstanding (and yes he is South African). Almuir Botha is a high class lead guitarist and has a high class stage image as well: 60cm dreadlocks and formal suit. Riaan Niewenhuis is quick and innovative on the keyboard and Schalk van der Merwe (bass guitarist) and Alida Stadler (beautiful lady on drums) provide a solid rhythm section. The band has just returned from a tour to London.

CCP RECORD COMPANY UNVEILS NEW WEBSITE
South African music's penetration into cyberspace received a significant boost this week with the unveiling of CCP Record Company's sparkling new website on Monday, September 10th. The site, http://www.ccpworld.co.za, adds yet another powerful dimension to CCP, which is already positioned as one of South Africa's most dynamic domestic record companies, with a roster of artists and repertoire renowned for being both innovative and commercially successful.
A strong feature of the CCPWorld site will also be its role in ensuring
ease of access to information and much more on the part of the media. An archive facility will also enable the public and the media to access
previous news stories on their favourite CCP artists.
The site will be regularly updated with news about artists, reviews, and new and forthcoming releases as well as a "Did You Know" section which takes a behind-the-scenes look at key players on the current SA music scene - among them Mandoza producer, Gabi Le Roux and Gospel producer, Jabu Nkabinde. Fun items, like competitions and screensavers, as well as a Top 10 are among CCPWorld's many features.
