This superb compilation from EMI South Africa was released in March 1994 with catalogue number CDDEEP (WR) 1 (8291612). Also released on cassette with cat no. L4DEEP (EK) 1 (8291614). It was part of the excellent Platinum series which included compilations from such diverse artists as Jethro Tull, Uriah Heep, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Jim Croce, Don McLean, Cliff Richard, and the Hollies.

Great sleeve notes from an uncredited author on 25 years of Deep Purple. The booklet includes a number of album covers, however only covers that feature the band member's faces (however distorted) are included. In other words: Shades,In Rock,Fireball,MachineHead, Burnand ComeTaste The Band. Strange, but true!

I highly recommended this CD as a great introduction to DeepPurple's studio work.
