Prophets Of Da City release their new album "Ghetto Code"

After a slight delay, the Prophets have released their much-awaited 6th album "Ghetto Code". The first single off the album is "Wild Stylz" which was recorded in London. Having spent most of 1995/6 touring and promoting their previous album "Universal Souljaz", performing alongside the likes of The Fugees, Public Enemy, James Brown and Spearhead, POC are now home for 1997. They are planning to use the rest of the year to help some of our SA talent e.g. Skeem, D'Low, Esmile, 4FT Deep and Mr. Devious. POC are also featured on Spearhead's latest album "Chocolate Superhighway". Look out for our review of "Ghetto Code".

Goth band "The Awakening" release their debut album

In a move to 're-awaken' the popular but slightly dormant Goth scene in SA, The Awakening have added to their live line-up as they set out to promote their first album "Risen". Formed originally by Ashton Nyte and Jenni Hazell in1995 from the ashes of their previous band "Martyr's Image", these two began recreating their live set which led to them recording "Risen" during 1996. The Awakening will be launching the album with an interview on Fridge Hour Radio Tuks (107,2 FM) on Monday 28th April from 8-9 pm. Thereafter they will hold a CD signing and In Store appearance at Seedy's, Hatfield from 9-11 pm, also on Monday 28th
